An Iowa City man was taken into custody after a search warrant allegedly turned up evidence of drug use.

The warrant was executed the afternoon of January 8th at the Rochester Avenue residence of 47-year-old Zebadiah Squires.  He was present during the search, which allegedly turned up used drug paraphernalia.

Police say the majority of the residents living with Squires admitted to drug use inside the premises, or knowing about drug use occurring there.

A warrant was issued last week, and Squires was charged with Keeping Premises for Controlled Substances. If convicted, he faces a sentence of up to two years.

Squires was released on his own recognizance Friday pending arraignment.
