An Iowa City man was arrested for violating the terms of his sex offender registry requirements.
According to court records, 27-year-old David Lemon of Taylor Drive was convicted in March 2018 of Lascivious Acts with a Child and required upon release to appear in person at the Sheriff’s Office of his primary residence every three months.
Lemon reportedly failed to appear for his December verification, and a warrant was issued last week for his arrest when his whereabouts could not be determined.
Lemon was apprehended and charged with a sex offender verification violation, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a prison term of up to two years if convicted. He was released to the Department of Correctional Services on Tuesday pending arraignment.
