Cedar Rapids police arrested two occupants of a vehicle that attempted to flee a traffic stop.
According to a CRPD news release, at approximately 12:17 Friday morning officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Dondre Minor of Cedar Rapids near C Avenue and 14th Street NE. Minor attempted to elude officers and lost control of his vehicle in the 1400 block alley between Washington Avenue and Bever Avenue SE and crashed into the backyard of a residence causing property damage to the privacy fence.
Minor was taken into custody following a brief foot chase. Police say another occupant, 24-year-old Darrell Morrow of Cedar Rapids, also fled on foot. Officers searched the surrounding area for nearly an hour and Morrow was located following a successful canine track. Officers recovered two firearms as part of the stop. Minor is now charged with Eluding, Interference With Official Acts, Speeding, and multiple counts of Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
