The South of Six Business District is celebrating the installation of two new business signs marking an important milestone in its Signage Program and signaling growing momentum for placemaking efforts across the south side of Iowa City.
Funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) via the City of Iowa City, the Signage Program launched in November to help local businesses improve visibility, strengthen identity, and create a more welcoming and connected district.
A press release says the first completed projects include new exterior signage for Dream City, and updated signage and vinyl window graphics for Zoetic Coffee located in the South District Market off Highway 6.
Following the strong response to the first round of awards, the South of Six Business District has officially launched Round Two of the Signage Program. Additional projects are expected to move forward in the coming months, with a follow-up announcement planned once new awards are finalized.
