The Johnson County Board of Health has released a statement indicating it nis reaffirming its support for the childhood immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The news release says the schedule is based on decades of scientific research and is carefully designed to protect children from serious and potentially life-threatening diseases at the ages when they are most vulnerable.
The move comes as the Trump administration and Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have indicated plans to scale back required vaccinations for United States schoolchildren.
