A University of Iowa student has pleaded guilty to charges that they flipped over a table belonging to a conservative group on campus.
Court records show 19-year-old Niko Calhoon pleaded guilty to charges of Disorderly Conduct and 3rd Degree Harassment on Tuesday. Last November, Calhoon reportedly grabbed a table set up by the UI chapter of Turning Point USA and flipped it over. The organization was holding an event called “Cocoa and Conservatives.” outside of the Tippie College of Business.
Video of the incident went viral, with Republicans at the national level condemning the action.
Calhoon was given a deferred judgement on similar charges from an October 2025 incident that saw them flip over a similar table set up by Young Americans for Freedom.
Calhoon was given a deferred judgment on the latest charges and sentenced to 12 months of probation.
