An Iowa City woman faces an assault charge after allegedly spitting on an Iowa City Police officer.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Macbride Drive just before 10:45 Wednesday night. They were interviewing 41-year-old Skye Carrasco when she allegedly spat in their general direction. Police say she then got closer to the officer and spit again on the ground in front of him, with some of it landing on the officer’s boot.
Carrasco is charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations. If convicted, she faces a maximum of two years in jail.
