The Iowa Department of Transportation Bureau of Investigation is accusing a Tiffin man of multiple felonies including theft, odometer fraud, and forgery.

39-year-old Jamial Jones of Greenfield Drive was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 11:00 Friday morning.

The DOT reports last year Jones was in possession of 11 Hellcat engines and four engine racks that had been reported as stolen from the manufacturer. Jones is accused of selling the items at under market value despite working at a business where he would be aware that they were stolen.

Jones is also accused of selling four different vehicles after rolling back their odometers…in some cases by almost 200,000 miles. The DOT adds in one case he forged a woman’s signature on a vehicle title.

Jones is charged with three counts of 1st Degree Theft, four counts of 2nd Degree Fraudulent Practices, and one count each of Ongoing Criminal Conduct, 2nd Degree Theft, and Forgery. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum sentence of 82 years in prison.
