A North Liberty man is accused of assaulting his own mother and vandalizing her car
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old James Duling of Early Moon Court was involved in a verbal argument with his mother at an address on Terrace Hill Drive Thursday afternoon when he struck her in the face with his open hand, causing her glasses to cut her face. The next day, Duling allegedly threw a glass bottle through the windshield of his mother’s car at the same address, causing $500 in damage.
Duling is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and 4th Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
