A vigil is being held tonight in Iowa City for the victims of this weekend’s shooting on the Ped Mall.
The shooting left five injured, three of them confirmed to be University of Iowa students. One of the five is in critical condition. The victims’ names and specific conditions have not been made public.
The event is being planned and organized by various area religious communities and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
A release from one of the organizers says participants will lament the violent incident on the Ped Mall and recommit to building the peace everyone in the community deserves.
The vigil will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church (320 East College St.). From there attendees will walk in unity to the Ped Mall. All are welcome to attend.
