Former Saturday Night Live performer Rob Schneider is scheduled to appear in Des Moines next week to support Republican gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn.
The Gazette reports the event, billed as “Zach Can Do It! – An Evening of Conversation and Comedy with Rob Schneider,” is scheduled for May 213th at the Scottish Rite Consistory.
Lahn is one of five candidates on the Republican side running for governor. The others are US Representative Randy Feenstra, former state agency director Adam Steen, state legislator Eddie Andrews and pastor Brad Sherman. Rob Sand is the lone Democrat currently in the race.
Schneider has been a frequent attendee at conservative political events and campaign stops.
