An Iowa City man has been arrested for reportedly punching cars.
Iowa City Police were called to the apartment building at 327 East College Street just before 10:00 Friday night for a man punching vehicles in the parking area while yelling obscenities. Arriving officers found 38-year-old Estevan Rocha of the Lake Ridge manufactured housing community, who reportedly admitted to drinking two 24 ounce beers and feeling “tipsy”. Rocha allegedly admitted to punching a car four times. His breath alcohol level was above .08%.
Rocha was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication. A Possession of a Controlled Substance charge was added after a baggie of marijuana was reportedly found upon a search of his person.
Rocha faces a maximum sentence of 14 months in jail if convicted on all counts.
