A dispute over not serving food on the Ped Mall after bar close has led to an assault charge.
Iowa City Police say just before 2:30 Saturday morning 26-year-old Stefan Salemi of Mount Prospect, Illinois punched a food vendor in the face outside Brother’s in a dispute over the alleged victim not serving food after closing for the night. The man suffered a large bump under his left eye.
Salemi was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Public Intoxication. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of 13 months in jail.
