An Iowa City man caught on video rapping about his sister accidentally shooting him and intentionally shooting another person now faces new charges after a domestic incident earlier this week.

Iowa City Police say 29-year-old Darelle Bull of Cottonwood Avenue went to the Crescent Street residence of the mother of his child Wednesday afternoon to confront her after accusing her of seeing another man. Bull was allegedly waiting inside the woman’s unlocked house when she arrived home. He allegedly rushed at the woman, but was held back by another person who was present. Bull also allegedly overturned property, breaking a television valued at approximately $200 in the process.

Later that night arriving officers saw Bull enter the residence, but he fled through the front door when they entered the house. He was captured after a short search, and investigators say he resisted arrest.

Bull is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault – 3rd or Subsequent Offense, 3rd Degree Burglary, Interference with Official Acts, Public Intoxication and two no-contact order violations. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of over ten years in prison.

Bull had already been set to be arraigned on Monday on charges of Accessory to a Felony and Assault Causing Bodily Injury stemming from a separate incident. Bull was accidentally shot by his sister during an altercation with another group near the East Burlington Street Kum & Go in September of 2017. Bull was reportedly uncooperative during the investigation, but investigators obtained video from the day Bull was released from the hospital showing him and his sister rapping about the shootings.
