Iowa City Police are investigating an early Saturday morning burglary.

According to an ICPD news release, just before 4:15am officers responded to 108 South Linn Street for a female reporting she awoke to a male inside her residence speaking to her. The male suspect then left the residence carrying a plastic bag, and the victim found he had stolen an undisclosed amount of money and/or property and disturbed items in the apartment. The suspect entered the residence through a door that appeared to have been inadvertently left unlocked.

The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20’s standing approximately 5’10” tall with a medium build. He had shoulder-length dreadlocks and a dark blue tee-shirt

The victim was shaken up, but not injured during the incident.

This case is under investigation by the ICPD, who reminds residents to lock their doors and windows.
