Two people have been arrested and two others taken into custody following a robbery and standoff Saturday morning.
Police say they were called to the 1900 block of Broadway Street about 3:50 Saturday morning on a report of a robbery which occurred under the threat of violence. The victim told responding officers three males had stolen money and other items.
Officers tracked the possible suspects to a nearby apartment but say initial attempts to speak with them were unsuccessful. They say they then received information guns might have been present inside the apartment and multiple attempts to contact the men were unsuccessful.
A search warrant was eventually served at 7:40 a.m. by the IC Metro Special Response Team and two men – Isidore Nagueza, 22, of Westgate Street and Dillon Kellerman, 18, of Taylor Drive – surrendered at 10:13 a.m. A third man – Moudine Sitou, 24 – held out for another half-an-hour before being taken into custody. There is no mention of any weapons being located inside the apartment.
Police say Nagueza had two active warrants out for probation violations and Kellerman was wanted for a previous assault.
Nagueza and a fourth person, 18-year-old Joshua Johnson of Taylor Drive, each face one count of 3rd Degree Robbery, an aggravated misdemeanor carrying up to two years in prison. There is no indication either Kellerman or Sitou face any charges in this case.
Police say their investigation into the robbery is still on-going.
