A former Iowa wrestler apparently still has some love for the school, being arrested after getting into a fight with an Indiana water polo coach.
Police records show Logan Ryan, 22, who now lives in Cedar Falls, and William Skowron, 21, of Bloomington, Ind., were arrested after a fight at Panchero’s in downtown Iowa City. Details about the fight itself have not yet been released but police were called to the restaurant a little before 2 a.m.
Both Ryan and Skowron, who is listed as team treasurer for the Indiana men’s water polo team, are charged with Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication, both simple misdemeanors carrying up to 30 days in jail each.
Ryan, who is entering his senior season at UNI, originally came to Iowa from Bettendorf, going 14-8 in two varsity seasons with the Hawkeyes. He was one of three wrestlers arrested as part of a burglary investigation in Marion in March 2015, being kicked off the team but earning his way back.
He transferred to UNI in August 2017, starting at 157 pounds for the Panthers last season, going 17-10 and finishing fifth at the Big 12 Championships.
