A Coralville man is looking at some possible jail time after ending up uninvited at an Iowa City apartment Sunday morning.

Arrest reports say that officers were called to the 300 block of East Burlington Street for reports of an individual who was in a resident’s apartment without permission. Upon arrival, they came upon 25-year-old Spencer Lackman of Grantview Drive, who was observed with bloodshot watery eyes, rambling speech, and aggressive behavior. The resident told police that Lackman had no right to be in their apartment.

Police say that Lackman was combative but they were able to restrain him. However, while transporting him to the Johnson County Jail he kicked one officer and spit on another, continuing to disobey officer commands.

Lackman was charged with two counts of assault on persons in certain occupations, interference with official acts causing bodily injury, and public intoxication. If convicted of the charges he could be sentenced to over three years in prison.
