Coralville man who paid underage girls take nude photos faces new accusations of inappropriate behavior

A Coralville man who paid three girls to let him take explicit photographs 13 years ago now has new problems with the law.
37-year-old Christopher Mayer of 2nd Street was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 12:45 Tuesday afternoon. Online records indicate Mayer violated his probation after allegedly creating a fake social media account and using it to send inappropriate messages to a juvenile female in Addison, Illinois. The IP address on the account was traced to Mayer’s grandmother’s residence, which he lists as a secondary home address on the Iowa Sex Offender registry.
Mayer is on probation after he was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2006 for possessing child pornography. His computer was found to contain a pair of short, pornographic movies featuring children listed as between ten and 13 years of age.
Mayer was also convicted that year of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor after he picked up three girls from South East Junior High, took them to his Lakeside Apartments residence, and paid them $50 each to pose for nude photos. In addition to the ten-year sentence, Mayer was also placed on lifelong parole as a sex offender.
