Threatening to shoot up the University of Iowa with an AK-47 had led to the arrest of an Iowa City man on a terroristic threats charge.
Iowa City Police say that on Tuesday morning 45-year-old Rudy Marcelino of Iowa Avenue posted a message to his Facebook page reading, “My aka 47 is ready to accept the repercussion of my communication to all of you. I’m bringing the heat to University of Iowa that the next time you know of me is in the obituary! The hammer has dropped!!! The silver back is up.”

Marcelino admitted that he made the post and that he possessed an AK-47. He was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for a psychological evaluation and was found to be of sound mind.

Marcelino is charged with Threat of Terrorism. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
