The Iowa Hawkeyes are ranked #18 in the Sports Illustrated pre-season top 25 college football poll.
Iowa is among seven ranked Big Ten teams. The others include Ohio State at #6, Michigan at #11, Penn State at #16, Wisconsin at #19, Michigan State at #21 and Nebraska at #24.
Iowa State checks in at #23. Alabama is #1, followed by Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas.
SI also ranked three Hawkeyes among the nation’s top 100 players. They include defensive end A.J. Epenesa at #14, offensive lineman Alaric Jackson at #65 and offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs at #91.
