The cyclist who was struck by a northbound vehicle on Highway 61 south of Muscatine in the pre-dawn hours of Monday has been identified as a Grandview firefighter.

49-year-old Devin Estabrook of Letts, Iowa, is clinically dead following the hit-and-run crash.

Dan Conry, assistant Grandview fire chief, tells the Quad City Times that Estabrook had been a firefighter with the volunteer department for about ten years and also volunteered for Louisa County Ambulance. He worked in maintenance at Bayer in Muscatine.

Estabrook leaves behind a wife and two children.
