Allegedly headbutting an Iowa City Police officer has led to a University of Iowa student’s arrest.

According to arrest records, 19-year-old Sean Flynn of South Johnson Street was inside The Airliner on South Clinton Street just after 1am Sunday when he saw officers conducting a bar check. Flynn allegedly fled, ignoring officers’ orders to stop. Flynn ran into the vestibule of The Summit, where he was caught by bouncers. He then attempted to flee again, allegedly headbutting a police officer in the face in the process. The headbutt caused bleeding from the officer’s mouth.

Flynn showed multiple signs of intoxication, and was in possession of a fake Arkansas driver’s license. He’s charged with Interference with Official Acts Causing Bodily Injury, Public Intoxication, Possession of a Fake ID, and two counts of Being In A Bar After 10pm While Underage. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of over two years in prison.
