University of Iowa Police say a Quad Cities man used a wheelchair to help him steal from the Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Arrest records indicate video surveillance from the hospital shows 51-year-old Thomas Yoke II of Davenport entering the Wild Rose gift shop just after 12:30pm on August 19th with an accomplice. Yoke allegedly distracted the cashier while the accomplice put articles of clothing, books and other items into a black bag. Yoke then allegedly placed the bag on a wheelchair being used by the accomplice and rolled him out of the gift shop.

Yoke was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 3pm Tuesday and charged with 4th Degree Theft, a Serious Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of one year in jail.
