A Coralville man has been arrested for cashing two forged checks this summer.

Authorities say that 58-year-old Aquinas Jackson of 20th Avenue Place visited two Green State Credit Union branches on August 2nd. At 1:13pm Jackson is shown on video at the Mormon Trek branch, cashing a check made out to him for $912.38. Jackson signed the check on the back and provided his drivers license number.

Twenty minutes later, Jackson is seen on video cashing a $994.04 check at the Muscatine Avenue branch of Green State. He also signed that alleged forged check.

A warrant was requested for Jackson’s arrest August 20th and he was taken into custody Thursday morning. He’s charged with two counts of forgery and two counts of third-degree Theft. If convicted on all counts, Jackson could be sentenced to up to fourteen years in prison.
