An Iowa City woman faces up to 25 years in prison after a search warrant at her residence turned up drugs.
According to police, they executed the warrant at the residence of 48-year-old Heather Simmons of South Dubuque Street Thursday morning at approximately 11:00. During the search, officers allegedly located approximately one ounce of methamphetamine in a bag on the nightstand in Simmons’ bedroom.
According to the arrest report, officers also located miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and packaging material in the residence.
Simmons was taken into custody and charged with a controlled substance violation, a Class B felony.
