Muscatine Community College announced that they will be closed this week due to coronavirus. The closing includes the main campus, Ag Learning Center and the Button Factory locations. All other Eastern Iowa Community College campuses will remain open, including the Learning Tree Childcare Center.

KWQC TV reports that the EICC website says the decision to close was due to what they call “a small but significant number of positive and presumed positives among employees as well as a sharp increase in the county’s 14-day average positivity rate.

The site said the week off will allow those who want to get a COVID-19 test to do so. The college has contacted everyone they believe may have had direct contact with a positive employee.

While closed, additional deep cleaning will be performed. The campus is scheduled to reopen on Monday November 2nd.
