Allegedly threatening her mother with a knife in front of her two children has led to an Iowa City woman’s arrest.
29-year-old Ashley Scharf is accused of hitting her mother on the left side and top of her head just after 11:30 Saturday night. The mother, who lives with Scharf at her Hollywood Boulevard residence, suffered injuries to the left side of her face.
Scharf then allegedly grabbed a knife and approached her mother as if she were going to stab her. Scharf’s two children, who are five and six years old, allegedly witnessed the attack.
Scharf was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault While Displaying a Weapon and Child Endangerment. If convicted on both charges, she faces a maximum of four years in prison.
