Iowa football player Ihmir Smith-Marsette arrested for OWI

Iowa football player Ihmir Smith-Marsette was arrested for drunk driving hours after Iowa’s 21-20 loss to Northwestern.

According to Iowa City Police, Smith-Marsette was clocked doing 74 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone just before 1:30 Sunday morning. Officers pulled over Smith-Marsette’s 2017 Chevy Camaro near Riverside Drive and Myrtle Avenue. Police say the wide receiver showed multiple signs of intoxication, showed impairment on field sobriety tests, and registered a blood alcohol content of .130 on a Datamaster test.

Smith-Marsette is charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
