Going over twenty miles an hour BELOW the speed limit on a highway has led to the arrest of an Ohio man.
Police say 32-year-old Antwone Thomas of Miamisburg was heading southbound on Highway 218 Monday just after 8pm and was allegedly observed driving at 42 miles an hour on the 65 mile-per-hour highway. Thomas was reportedly in the passing lane, and his speed fluctuated between 42 and 68 miles an hour, causing an officer to stop him.
While speaking with Thomas, several open containers of Budweiser and Bud Light were observed, along with the strong odor of ingested alcohol and burnt marijuana. He allegedly admitted to drinking before driving. After performing poorly on field testing, he provided a PBT reading of .204 percent and a subsequent Datamaster reading of .178 percent.
Thomas was charged with his first OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
