A reported fight at the Iowa City Bike Library has led to one arrest.

Iowa City Police were called to a disturbance at the bike library on Gilbert Court just before 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. The caller said one of the men involved, 43-year-old Daniel Riness of Tama, had drugs on his person.

Riness allegedly told arriving officers that he’d been involved in a physical altercation. Police say Riness turned over a pipe with burnt marijuana residue, and a pill bottle containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine was found on his person, as was a second pipe used for smoking controlled substances.

Riness was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd or Subsequent Offence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of over five years in prison.
