A Shelter House resident was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly continuing a previous dispute, where it allegedly turned physical.

According to the arrest report, 56-year-old Edward Willingham followed the man he had the dispute with into a bathroom at approximately 12:50 am and punched him in the face multiple times.  The man suffered a split lip.

Another person walked into the bathroom and told police that they saw Willingham hit the victim, and the man bit Willingham. When officers spoke with Willingham, he allegedly had cuts on his left thumb and stated that the man bit him. The victim denied this, and police determined that the cuts on Willingham’s thumb were defensive wounds caused by the victim’s teeth.

Willingham was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor, and was jailed. The victim requested a no-contact order between the two.
