Green Iowa AmeriCorps is selling backyard compost bins to residents of Johnson County for $25. Each bin is made from 100% recycled plastic and holds six-to-eight 30-gallon bags of yard material.
Those interested in purchasing the compost bin can fill out the online form. The number of bins is limited. After the first 50 sign-ups, any additional requests will be placed on a waitlist.
Pickup and payment will take place at an event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 17, 2023. Green Iowa AmeriCorps will provide more information about the bin pickup closer to the date.
