An area transient that has been arrested numerous times in the last month on various charges has been taken into custody again after an alleged theft of alcohol.

According to police, 41-year-old Porscha Curry was inside the CVS Pharmacy on Muscatine Avenue Monday morning and stole an item worth approximately $50. She returned Monday night and took several bottles of alcohol from the shelf. Curry reportedly made no effort to conceal her actions, and walked toward the exit without paying for any of the items.

She allegedly broke one of the bottles as she left the store. Store staff said the value of the items taken were nearly $150.

A check of criminal records shows a number of prior theft convictions for Curry, who was charged with two counts of 3rd degree theft. She could be sentenced to up to four years in jail if convicted. She was also cited for trespass.
