A Tennessee man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly causing a disturbance in downtown Iowa City.
According to police, 37-year-old Antonio Hill of Memphis was causing issues around the area of the Field House and DC’s. He was reportedly told multiple times that it was time to go home but allegedly remained on scene.
Hill was reportedly observed with bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, unsteady balance and had the odor of ingested alcohol. He was told that he was under arrest, and Hill allegedly backed up and resisted being placed in handcuffs. He eventually had to be taken to the ground for compliance.
A post arrest search of Hill’s person allegedly discovered a baggie with a white powdery substance consistent with cocaine. He also had a couple of pills consistent with MDMA.
Hill was charged with Interference with Official Acts, Public Intoxication, and two counts of 2nd offense Possession of a Controlled Substance. If convicted on all charges, Hill could be sentenced to over four years in prison.
