A Keota teen was killed in a single-vehicle accident south of Kalona.
The Iowa State Patrol says 18-year-old Alaina McNurlen was driving a 2004 Saturn Ion northbound on Highway 1 near mile marker 64 just before 4:15 Thursday afternoon when the vehicle drifted into the oncoming lane. McNurlen overcorrected, and the vehicle rolled over and came to rest in a ditch.
McNurlen was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She died from the resulting injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
