260th Street NW is closing to traffic for Iowa DOT Interchange Project at Interstate 380 & Penn Street
Johnson County, Iowa – 260th Street NW will close to all traffic from just West of James Avenue to Ireland Avenue at 7:00 AM on March 28, 2025. Streb Construction of Iowa City, IA is the prime contractor for this interchange project. A borrow site for the project is located on 260th Street NW. The Iowa Department of Transportation has designated portions of 260th Street, James Avenue, and Penn Street as a haul route to the borrow site, shown highlighted in yellow below. The road closure area is highlighted in orange.
Haul trucks using 260th are making the gravel road generally impassable to routine traffic, necessitating the immediate road closure. Please slow down and drive defensively in the project corridor as there are many trucks turning and using the haul route. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
