Repair work at the Capitol Street Parking Ramp that was scheduled to begin April 1st will now start Wednesday, April 16, 2025, limiting available public parking.
A release from the city says the repairs will include the east entrance on South Clinton Street, so vehicles will need to enter using the west entrance on South Capitol Street. As areas in the ramp are temporarily closed, signage will be posted in advance to indicate unavailable spaces.
Portions of several decks will be inaccessible, and permit holders may need to use different areas within the ramp. Visit the Parking Ramps and Parking Meters section under the Transportation tab at Icgov.org for alternative parking ramp locations.
The maintenance work on the parking ramp is a long-term project to ensure safety and structural integrity, and will likely last into the summer. Factors such as weather conditions, the availability of materials, and unforeseen structural challenges can impact the timeline.
The city hopes to complete the work as efficiently as possible while minimizing disruptions.
