The University of Iowa held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new gymnastics and spirit squad training center on Thursday.

The $20 million Nagle-Duda Gymnastics & Spirit Squads Training Center is located on Prairie Meadow Drive, across from the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. It features competition-style beams, vault runways, uneven bars and a floor-exercise space. In addition to nearly 21,000-square-feet of practice space, the facility houses locker rooms, meeting and athletic training rooms, office space and a multi-purpose room.

The new facility is named after former Hawkeye cheerleader Mary Lee Nagle Duda, who donated $5 million for the project.
