An Illinois man faces a felony charge after allegedly leading police on a pursuit early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2am, 24-year-old Rory Bruno of Silvis was operating a 2014 Cadillac near Melrose Avenue and Camp Cardinal Road when he was reportedly observed exceeding speeds of 25 miles an hour over the posted limit.  A traffic stop was attempted, but Bruno refused to stop.

The officer reports lights and siren were activated, and a pursuit continued over various roads.  The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle was spike stripped.  Bruno reportedly surrendered without incident, but would not admit that he was the driver.  The vehicle’s keys were located on his person, and a photograph of Bruno and his child were allegedly discovered in the glove compartment.

He was charged with Eluding, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
