A patient at University of Iowa Health Care on Hawkins Drive is accused of rubbing his penis against a nursing assistant and slapping her on the butt.
68-year-old David Zanders of Pleasant Hill was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 5:00 Tuesday morning. UI Police say around 10:30 on the morning of August 5th, 2021, a UIHC nursing assistant bent down to dry Zanders’ feet when he stepped toward her and pivoted his hips so his penis repeatedly brushed the woman’s shoulder. When the nursing assistant got up to leave, Zanders allegedly slapped her on the butt and proclaimed, “You did a good job.”
Zanders is charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
