An Iowa City man was taken into custody Monday afternoon on a warrant stemming from an alleged burglary earlier this year.

The reported victim arrived home to his East Washington Street condo the evening of March 31st and found 40-year-old  Dustin Stucker and another person walking out of the front door.  The victim reportedly recognized Stucker and confronted him about being in his home without permission. Stucker was carrying a bag full of the victim’s belongings. Stucker alleged he was retrieving some of his own personal belongings from the residence, despite the victim stating that Stucker never lived in the residence and had no belongings there.

Stucker and the other person then left the building still carrying the large bag. The victim followed the two, but then lost sight of them.

Pedestrian Mall cameras reportedly caught Stucker and the other person entering the building at 7:50 pm carrying no items, then leaving just before 8:10pm with Stucker carrying a heavy black bag with a shoulder strap.

Authorities issued a warrant for Stucker’s arrest April 29th. He was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with 3rd degree Burglary, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
