Allegedly stealing a car last month after telling the owner he was going to take it has led to a Coralville man’s arrest.
Coralville Police say 32-year-old Torcel Walker of The Iowa Lodge took a 2008 Kia Sorento from an apartment complex parking lot on the 500 block of 5th Street just after 7:15 p.m. on April 26th. Walker reportedly told the victim he was going to use the car to see someone in Iowa City. The owner did not grant permission for Walker to use the vehicle.
Walker is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owners’ Consent. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
