A Coralville woman faces multiple drug charges after allegedly selling marijuana to her son and keeping her residence for selling the drug.

Police executed a search warrant on the 10th Street Court residence of 43-year-old Valerie Hobson the afternoon of March 12th.  Her cellphone was seized for extrication of information, and it was allegedly discovered that she purchased marijuana for her son on March 7th, and for her daughter on March 10th

The search warrant also reportedly turned up evidence of marijuana use all over the residence, including in the bedroom of Hobson’s son.  Police say there was evidence of drug possession and distribution as well. During the search, Hobson’s daughter asked her if she had purchased the marijuana for her, and Hobson allegedly said she had.

A baggie with blue powder found in Hobson’s bedroom later reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine.

A warrant was issued March 24th; Hobson was arrested Thursday and charged with Delivery to a Minor, Keeping Premises for Controlled Substances, Meth Possession, and Marijuana Possession. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to up to 33 years in prison.

Hobson was released to the Department of Correctional Services after her initial appearance. An arraignment will be set at a later date.
