A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a liquor theft from a North Liberyt convenience store.

Police say the incident occurred May 7th at the KwikStar on Dimond Boulevard at approximately 12:30pm. Upon arrival, staff brought officers to a back room where they were shown security footage. Three suspects had come into the store and stole around $300 in liquor. The footage showed a shorter white male and a black male enter the store, with a third suspect identified as a black male.

The shorter white male, later identified as 31-year-old Nicholas Telles of Lorcardo Drive NE, reportedly pulled a big bag out of his coat and filled it with the liquor bottles, then ran out of the store into a white Mercedes.

The footage provided clear pictures of the suspects’ faces, and a plate number of the vehicle.

A warrant was issued for Telles’ arrest on May 16th. He was found to be in custody at the Linn County Jail on separate charges.  He was transported to Johnson County Court on Thursday and charged with 3rd degree Theft, an aggravated misdemeanor.
