A Shelter House resident was arrested after allegedly threatening the lives of a victim’s family.
According to the police report, 35-year-old Roy Vowels and the victim had an altercation earlier in the day on Saturday. He reportedly believed the victim lied to police about the original incident, so Vowels allegedly said he would make their words come true.
Later that day, Vowels yelled at the victim, telling them he would come back later in the night and kill their entire family. When interviewed, Vowels admitted to making the statement. The victim was concerned for their and their family’s safety; Vowels allegedly told police that they should feel intimidated.
A warrant was issued, and Vowels was booked into the Johnson County Jail Monday afternoon. He faces up to two years in jail if convicted on a 1st degree Harassment charge.
