Coralville police say a man is dead after a shooting at Western Hills Mobile Home Estates.
Officers responded at 11:54pm Wednesday on reports of a disturbance and learned there had been a shooting. The victim had been shot twice in the chest. Attempts to aid the man were not successful, and he died at the scene.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
Investigators believe the shooting is an isolated incident, and there is no immediate threat to the public. Police haven’t released information about any arrests or a suspect, and are asking anyone with information to call them at 319-248-1800. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting Coralville Police in the investigation.
