Cedar Rapids Mayor Tiffany O’Donnell announced she’s running for a second term.
The Gazette reports in a news release issued Tuesday, O’Donnell said she wants to continue building on “a historic chapter of growth, safety and momentum” in Cedar Rapids. She cited capital investments by major businesses, work on the riverfront and downtown revitalization, and the Cedar Crossing Casino development set to open New Year’s Eve 2026.
The 56-year-old former news anchor is CEO of Women Lead Change and was elected to her first term as mayor in 2021. No other candidate has formally announced.
The election will be held November 4th.
