An Iowa man was arrested last week after allegedly being found with drugs during a traffic stop.

Just before 6am Thursday, police stopped a Ford pickup for having a middle break light out near the intersection of North Dubuque Road and Highway 1.  40-year-old David Whiteaker of Winfield Iowa was a passenger in the vehicle and was asked out of the vehicle for a probable cause search due to the reported faint smell of marijuana.

Police say they located a green pouch under Whiteaker’s seat.  Inside, they allegedly found multiple syringes, a spoon, and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Whiteaker was charged with a controlled substance violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. He faces a jail sentence of up to 13 months if convicted.
