Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has filed an official complaint with the Attorney General’s Office over an alleged violation of Iowa’s new anti-DEI law by a University of Iowa employee.

Fox News aired a video on Tuesday which reportedly shows a UI employee explaining that they are trying to find a way to work around a new law that bans Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts at the state’s regents-run schools. A news release from Attorney General Brenna Bird says she is investigating the incident as  a possible violation, and that the incident also violated an executive order issued by President Donald Trump in January.

A letter from Reynolds to Bird said such defiance “should not be tolerated”.
